Buy a Bed for Haiti family

Birthday Celebration for Starthrower Foundation
Starthrower Foundation celebrates its birthday on October 1. Like most five year olds, Starthrower would like to have a big birthday party with lots of presents, a big birthday cake, and lots of friends over to celebrate. But it won't.

That's because at Starthrower Foundation, almost all of our funds go directly to helping the young people in Haiti. And the best present we could get would be to feed a hungry student, or take someone to get medical treatment, or hand them a glass of clean, cool water to drink, or even buy a family (like the family in the picture) a bed with mosquito netting.

For those of you marking a milestone birthday (and you know what they are if you are!), why not throw a party and invite all your friends and family, and have a great time! Let them know that you really do not want a gift for yourself -- you have enough stuff -- but what you really want is to celebrate your birthday and Starthrower's birthday with a donation to help the young people in Haiti.

And bonus points for Going Green: You can send out the invitations online, and your guests don't need to make a trip to the mall, nor any plastic bags or wrapping paper, and one size fits all, and no returns (other than Happy ones!) Your guests can donate online, at Canada Helps.org or Paypal OR they can bring a cheque to the party. Make the cheque (check) payable to Starthrower Foundation.

This Birthday as Fundraiser celebration inspired by the milestone birthday celebrations (and donations) of two Starthrowers in Ontario, Canada -- Jackie McV and Cindy McG.

Happy Birthday One and All!
